This Privacy Policy is provided by One Line Littles, part of the One Line Life brand and a product of Tumbleweed Software ("One Line Littles", "we", "us") — the operator of onelinelittles.com and of the One Line Littles text-messaging (SMS) program. It describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Account information: Email address, display name (optional), and password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we never store plain-text passwords).
Journal entries: The text content you write (up to 280 characters per entry), entry dates, and optional mood accent colors.
Milestones: Personal milestone titles and dates you choose to record.
Usage data: Streak statistics, entry counts, and reminder preferences — used solely to provide the Service.
Payment data: Processed securely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID, not your card details.
Phone number (optional): Only if you choose to link a phone to text in your daily line. We use your number solely to receive your journal entries by text and to send the alerts you enable (such as writing reminders). We never use your phone number for marketing or for any other purpose, and we never sell or share it.
We use your information exclusively to provide, maintain, and improve the Service:
We do not sell your data. We do not use your journal content for advertising, analytics, or AI training.
Your data is stored in encrypted databases. All connections use HTTPS/TLS. Authentication uses JWT tokens in HTTP-only, secure, same-site cookies. We use rate limiting to prevent abuse and bcrypt password hashing.
Entry text is encrypted at rest. The words you write are additionally encrypted (AES-256) at the application level before they reach the database — database backups and direct database access show only ciphertext, never your words.
We share data only with services necessary to operate One Line Littles:
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We do not share your journal entries with any third party.
Our admin tools cannot display your journal entries. Entry text is encrypted at rest, and the support dashboard shows only activity metadata — entry counts, streaks, and dates — never what you wrote. Your entry content is processed only by automated systems that deliver Service features: rendering your books and posters, powering your search, and sending your on-this-day digests.
Authorized support personnel may access your account data (email, subscription, and order status) when necessary to provide customer support, troubleshoot technical issues, or fulfill print orders. All admin access is logged and limited to what is required for the specific support function.
Linking a phone number is entirely optional and used only for the text-in feature. When you link a number, we use it only to:
We send only messages about One Line Littles: verification codes, the reminders you turn on, replies to lines you text in, and occasional feature updates about One Line Littles (a few per year at most). We never send third-party advertising, and we do not use your phone number for anything else. We do not sell your mobile phone number, and mobile information (your number and SMS consent) is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with the messaging provider (Twilio) strictly to deliver the messages you have requested.
Message frequency varies based on your activity and settings — for example, reminders send on the schedule you choose, and text-in confirmations send only when you text a line. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out of SMS at any time — reply STOP to any message, or unlink your phone in your profile settings. Reply HELP for help. Opting out of SMS does not affect your account or your email reminders.
If you enable the public blog (Premium), entries you mark as public will be visible at your chosen URL. You control which entries are public on a per-entry basis. Private entries are never exposed through the blog.
Access: View all your data through the app.
Correction: Edit your entries and profile at any time.
Deletion: Delete your account from profile settings. This permanently removes all your entries, milestones, and personal data. Stripe subscriptions are canceled automatically.
Export: Premium users can export all entries as PDF or CSV.
We use essential cookies only — authentication tokens (HTTP-only, secure). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
One Line Littles is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
